Part of the profits of the YOU KHANGA creations will be invested in charity projects dedicated to the women and children of Kenya. With our collection, donations will be given to the ASANTE SANA ROBERTO CHILDREN’S HOME, an orphanage in Mambrui.

In 2006 Sister Nadia, Roberto, and Piera Chiodi meet and realise a dream: give life to a Mambrui orphanage near Malindi. The idea is that of building a structure which can offer the opportunity of a more serene existence to the small orphans. The project is successful, and in the course of passing years and thanks to donations, the house has grown to the point of being able to welcome about ninety children. They are born into poverty, with the majority less than five years old. All are all orphans and a third of them are HIV-positive. They come from zones around Malindi and as far as the Nairobi shanty-town and the Ndithini region. These children now have a house in which to live, but also have the possibility to attend a nursery, a school, to perform different activities, to learn something new each day and to grow up. All of this without ever distancing themselves and always under the vigil eye of Mother Piera, who has managed the home for many years in a wonderful family-like climate.
